Cytora presents at International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) conference in Montreal

Our Chief Scientific Officer and VP Clinical Affairs , Prof. Sandu Pitaru, presented at the annual meeting of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) conference in Montreal, Canada.

Prof. Pitaru presented our research “Novel neural crest-like stem cell population from the adult oral mucosa (hOMSC) as a disease modifier for the orphan neurodegenerative disease Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)” at poster session.

The ISSCR annual meeting is a globally recognized scientific conference dedicated to advance stem cell research and therapies.  Cytora are proud to be at the forefront of stem cell therapy through our proprietary off-the-shelf allogeneic human oral mucosal stem cells (hOMSCs).

Cytora’s patented platform technology is based on the discovery of a novel and unique stem cell population in the human oral mucosa (hOMSC), the origin of which is the embryonic nervous system. hOMSC are endowed with properties of neural crest, neural and mesenchymal stem cells. Cytora’s products are allogeneic, off-the-shelf, easily scalable, with a very competitive cost of goods (COG). The products were found to be safe and effective in early phase clinical trials in two indications: Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFU) and Multiple System Atrophy (MSA).

Our products have high potential for treating complicated multifactorial diseases such as chronic and neurodegenerative diseases, incurable wounds and autoimmune diseases.
